G1070MikroTik G1070 500W Replacement PSU CRS328-24P-4S+RM
The MikroTik G1070 is a 500W open-frame replacement power supply unit for the MikroTik CRS328-24P-4S+RM switch — delivering dual-rail DC output at 53Vdc 8.8A and 26.5Vdc 17.6A from a universal 90–264Vac input, -10°C to +55°C tested ambient temperature, ~200,000-hour MTBF at 25°C. The correct replacement PSU to stock alongside any CRS328-24P-4S+RM deployment where power supply failure must not result in switch downtime or an emergency parts sourcing event.

The MikroTik G1070 is a single-purpose device: it is the replacement power supply unit for the MikroTik CRS328-24P-4S+RM — MikroTik's 24-port full PoE Gigabit switch with 4 SFP+ 10G uplinks in a 1U rack chassis. Like the G1270 replacement PSU for the CRS354, the G1070 has a single operational context: a failed or degrading power supply in a live CRS328-24P-4S+RM, and the response time to PSU replacement in that scenario is directly determined by whether the G1070 is already on the shelf.
The CRS328-24P-4S+RM is a high-density enterprise PoE switch — 24 Gigabit PoE-out ports, 4 SFP+ 10G uplinks, 1U rackmount, running either SwOS or RouterOS depending on configuration. It is deployed in enterprise environments, data centres, medium and large office networks, and institutional infrastructure where it powers and connects 24 downstream PoE devices simultaneously — IP phones, wireless access points, IP cameras, IoT gateways, and any other PoE-dependent infrastructure. A PSU failure in the CRS328-24P-4S+RM does not merely take the switch offline — it de-powers all 24 downstream PoE devices simultaneously. The cascading operational impact of a CRS328 PSU failure in a production environment is significant relative to the cost of a spare G1070.
The dual-rail output architecture of the G1070 mirrors the design of the G1270 and reflects the CRS328's internal power requirements:
- **53Vdc at 8.8A (466W max)** — the high-voltage rail powering the CRS328's PoE output circuits. 53Vdc is the standard high-side voltage for 802.3af/at PoE delivery — the switch's PoE controller draws from this rail to deliver regulated 44–57V to connected PoE devices. The 8.8A current capacity provides the headroom required for the CRS328's full PoE load.
- **26.5Vdc at 17.6A (466W max)** — the lower-voltage high-current rail powering the CRS328's switching ASIC, CPU, management systems, SFP+ interfaces, and internal logic. The 17.6A current capacity reflects the switching ASIC's power draw under full traffic load across 24 Gigabit ports and 4 SFP+ uplinks.
The combined theoretical dual-rail output significantly exceeds the 500W nameplate rating — as with the G1270, the 500W nameplate reflects the continuous AC input power draw rather than the sum of both DC rail theoretical maximums. The G1070's efficiency rating is not published on the product page — request from the brochure or distributor, as this is a purchasing criterion for enterprise and data centre buyers with power budget constraints.
The 90–264Vac universal input range covers every standard AC supply globally — Canadian 120Vac single-phase, 208Vac, European 230Vac, and all voltages between — without a voltage selector switch or transformer. For Canadian deployments on a standard 120Vac 15A or 20A circuit, the G1070 at 500W draws approximately 4.2A — well within a 15A circuit's capacity with significant headroom for other loads on the same circuit.
The tested ambient temperature range of -10°C to +55°C is a meaningful specification for rack deployments. Unlike MikroTik's active network devices which are typically rated to -40°C, the G1070's -10°C lower limit reflects the thermal operating constraints of the PSU's internal components — electrolytic capacitors and other components in a 500W power supply have a narrower safe operating temperature range than a passive network device's electronics. The +55°C upper limit reflects the maximum ambient temperature the G1070 is designed to handle — a rack-mount equipment room that reaches 55°C ambient is operating at the edge of the G1070's rated temperature range. For equipment rooms in Canadian commercial buildings with standard HVAC, the -10°C to +55°C range covers all standard indoor deployment conditions.
The ~200,000-hour MTBF at 25°C is the highest MTBF tier in the MikroTik catalogue — consistent with the G1270, CSS318-16G-2S+IN, Chateau PRO ax, and cAP LTE12 ax in this product batch. At 25°C ambient, ~200,000 hours represents approximately 22.8 years mean time between failures. In practice, PSU operating temperatures inside a loaded 1U rack chassis exceed 25°C ambient, and MTBF degrades with temperature — but the ~200,000-hour baseline indicates high-quality enterprise-grade PSU components.
**Comparing the G1070 to the G1270:** Both are open-frame replacement PSUs for MikroTik enterprise PoE switches. The key differences:
- **G1070** 500W, for CRS328-24P-4S+RM (24 PoE ports, 4 SFP+ uplinks). DC rails: 53Vdc/8.8A + 26.5Vdc/17.6A. Tested ambient: -10°C to +55°C.
- **G1270** 750W, for CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM (48 PoE ports, 4 SFP+ + 2 QSFP+ uplinks). DC rails: 53Vdc/13.5A + 26.5Vdc/27A. Higher current capacity across both rails to support the larger port count and PoE budget.
The G1070's lower current capacity on both rails is sized for the CRS328's smaller port count and total PoE budget — the two PSUs are not interchangeable between chassis despite sharing the same dual-rail voltage architecture. Confirm PSU-to-chassis compatibility with your distributor before ordering.
**The spare parts inventory argument:** The G1070 is priced at a fraction of the operational cost of a CRS328-24P-4S+RM outage in a production environment. A PSU failure without a spare on the shelf means: switch downtime, 24 de-powered PoE devices offline, emergency procurement at expedited shipping rates, and potential service disruption for every user, device, or system depending on the switch. A G1070 already on the shelf means PSU replacement in the time it takes to physically swap the unit — assuming the CRS328 chassis supports tool-free or accessible PSU replacement. For any CRS328 deployment in a production environment, stocking at least one G1070 as a spare is the correct operational posture.
**Canadian deployment note:** The 90–264Vac input covers Canadian 120Vac without any adaptation. No power adapter, voltage selector, or step-up transformer required. Confirm the AC input connector type (expected IEC C14) from the brochure — a standard IEC C13 power cord is the expected connection, but confirm before assuming. Confirm electrical safety certifications (CSA, cUL, or UL with Canadian recognition) from the brochure — none are published on the product page.

Note: Replacement PSU for CRS328-24P-4S+RM only — confirm compatibility with any other MikroTik chassis before purchasing. Open-frame design — installs inside the CRS328 chassis; not a standalone device. The G1070 and G1270 share the same dual-rail voltage architecture (53Vdc + 26.5Vdc) but are NOT interchangeable — current ratings differ and each PSU is sized for its specific chassis. Efficiency rating, physical dimensions, weight, AC input connector type, cooling method, and protection features not published on product page — confirm from brochure.
