MikroTik G1270 750W Replacement PSU CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM
The MikroTik G1270 is a 750W open-frame replacement power supply unit for the MikroTik CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM switch — delivering dual-rail DC output at 53Vdc 13.5A and 26.5Vdc 27A from a universal 90–264Vac input, with ~200,000-hour MTBF at 25°C. The correct replacement PSU to stock alongside any CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM deployment where power supply failure must not result in switch downtime or a cross-border parts sourcing delay.

The MikroTik G1270 is a single-purpose device: it is the replacement power supply unit for the MikroTik CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM — MikroTik's 48-port full PoE Gigabit switch with 4 SFP+ 10G and 2 QSFP+ 40G uplinks in a 1U rack chassis. The G1270 is not a universal PSU, not a multi-platform power supply, and not an add-on upgrade — it is the field-replacement spare PSU for a specific switch. Its entire operational context is a failed or degrading power supply in a live CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM, and the response time to PSU replacement in that scenario is directly determined by whether the G1270 is already on the shelf.
The CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM is one of MikroTik's highest-density enterprise switches — 48 PoE-out ports, 4 SFP+ 10G uplinks, 2 QSFP+ 40G uplinks, 500W total PoE budget, 1U rackmount. It is deployed in enterprise environments, data centres, carrier PoPs, and large institutional networks where it carries production traffic across dozens of active PoE-powered devices. A PSU failure in this switch does not merely take the switch offline — it simultaneously de-powers up to 48 downstream PoE devices: IP phones, access points, cameras, IoT gateways, and any other PoE-dependent infrastructure connected to the switch's ports. The cascading impact of a CRS354 PSU failure in a production environment is disproportionate to the cost of the replacement PSU.
The dual-rail output architecture of the G1270 reflects the CRS354's internal power architecture. The two DC output rails serve distinct functions within the switch chassis:
- **53Vdc at 13.5A (716W max)** — the high-voltage rail powering the CRS354's PoE output circuits. 53Vdc is the standard high-side voltage for 802.3at/bt PoE delivery — the switch's PoE controller draws from this rail to deliver regulated 44–57V to connected PoE devices. The 13.5A current capacity provides the full 500W PoE budget headroom required for a fully loaded CRS354 with all 48 ports active.
- **26.5Vdc at 27A (715W max)** — the lower-voltage high-current rail powering the CRS354's switching ASIC, CPU, management systems, SFP+ and QSFP+ interfaces, and internal logic. The high current capacity at this rail reflects the switching ASIC's substantial power draw under full traffic load across 48 Gigabit ports plus 6 high-speed uplinks.
The combined output capacity of both rails (approximately 716W + 715W = 1,431W theoretical maximum dual-rail output) significantly exceeds the 750W nameplate rating — the 750W nameplate reflects the continuous AC input power draw, not the sum of both DC rail maximums. The PSU's efficiency rating determines the relationship between AC input power and DC output power — a higher-efficiency PSU draws less AC power for the same DC output. The G1270's efficiency rating is not published on the product page — request from the brochure or distributor.
The 90–264Vac universal input range covers every standard AC supply globally — Canadian 120Vac single-phase, North American 208Vac three-phase (single leg), European 230Vac, and all voltages between — without a voltage selector switch or transformer. For Canadian deployments, 120Vac and 208Vac installations are both within the G1270's input range. For a rack installation on a 20A 120Vac circuit, the G1270 at 750W draws approximately 6.25A — within a 20A circuit's capacity with headroom. For dual-PSU redundancy configurations (if the CRS354 chassis supports dual PSU slots — confirm from brochure), two G1270 units on separate circuits provide N+1 PSU redundancy.
The ~200,000-hour MTBF at 25°C is the highest MTBF tier in the MikroTik catalogue — the same tier as the CSS318-16G-2S+IN, Chateau PRO ax, and cAP LTE12 ax in this product batch. At 25°C ambient, ~200,000 hours represents approximately 22.8 years mean time between failures — a figure consistent with high-quality enterprise PSU components. In practice, PSU operating temperatures in a loaded 1U rack chassis exceed 25°C ambient, and MTBF degrades with temperature — but the ~200,000-hour baseline is a strong reliability indicator for a continuously running enterprise power supply.
**The spare parts inventory argument:** The G1270 is priced at a fraction of the operational cost of a CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM outage in a production environment. A fully loaded CRS354 PSU failure that requires waiting for a replacement PSU to ship from a distributor creates: switch downtime, up to 48 de-powered PoE devices offline, emergency procurement at expedited shipping rates, and potential SLA penalties for enterprise or carrier customers. The G1270 stocked on the shelf before it is needed. The PSU failure without a spare on hand costs multiples of that in emergency response, downtime, and expedited freight. For any CRS354 deployment in a production environment, stocking at least one G1270 as a spare is the standard operational posture.
**Canadian deployment note:** The 90–264Vac input covers Canadian 120Vac without any adaptation. No power adapter, no step-up transformer, no voltage selector — the G1270 plugs into a standard Canadian NEMA 5-15 or NEMA 5-20 receptacle and operates at full rated output. Confirm the AC input connector type (IEC C14 or other) from the brochure — a standard IEC C13/C14 power cord (the same cord used with most rack-mount equipment) is the expected input connector, but confirm before assuming.
