MikroTik GESP+POE-IN Passive PoE Injector Surge Protection

The MikroTik GESP+POE-IN is a passive PoE injector with built-in surge protection — injects passive PoE power to mast-mounted antennas and access points while protecting downstream switches from lightning strikes and static build-up on outdoor cable runs. Designed as the ground-level companion to the GESP surge protector (mounted at the top of the mast) — together forming a dual-end surge protection system for outdoor deployments. Passive device — no RouterOS, no firmware, no configuration. Includes K-73 fastening set. Recommended attachment: PVC zip ties. USD 12.00.

The MikroTik GESP+POE-IN is a passive PoE injector with surge protection at USD 12.00 — the ground-level half of MikroTik's GESP dual-end outdoor surge protection system, combining passive PoE power injection with lightning and static surge protection on a single outdoor cable run.

**Dual function — passive PoE injection + surge protection in one unit**

The GESP+POE-IN performs two jobs simultaneously: it injects passive PoE power to mast-mounted antennas and access points from the switch below, and it protects those downstream switches from lightning strikes and static build-up conducted along the outdoor cable. One device, one cable run, two functions — no separate PoE injector and separate surge protector required.

**GESP dual-end system — protector at the top, injector at the base**

MikroTik's recommended deployment: mount the GESP surge protector (IP67 weatherproof enclosure) at the top of the mast — directly protecting the antenna or AP. Install the GESP+POE-IN at the base of the mast, between the cable and the switch. Ground the unit to the rackmount, mast, or any grounded structure. Maximum protection requires surge protection at both ends of the cable run — the GESP+POE-IN alone is not a complete surge protection system.

**GESP units absorb multiple strikes — inspect after each surge**

MikroTik's own guidance: GESP units can usually absorb multiple lightning or static impacts, but condition must be checked after each surge event. At USD 12.00, replacement cost is low — treat as a consumable safety device in high-lightning-exposure environments.

**Passive device — no configuration required**

No firmware, no RouterOS, no IP address. Installs inline on the PoE cable run. Includes K-73 fastening set. Recommended attachment: PVC zip ties (not metal clamps — do not over-tighten).

**Pairs with:** GESP surge protector (mast-top companion), any MikroTik outdoor AP or antenna accepting passive PoE input.

General information

All students who attend the Training can receive a free L4 license from MikroTik. Training should be at least three days long.

Students are allowed to take the certification test ONLY upon the attendance of individual training course, in the class, under the supervision of a MikroTik Certified Training Partner.

Each certification test consists of a pre-defined % of random questions (multiple choice and true/false) from specific question categories. Items also have a difficulty parameter. MTCNA test is generated from more straightforward questions, Advanced tests – from more difficult questions.

Only one attempt is allowed. The test must be finished within one hour. The passing grade is set to 60%. There are 25 questions in the exam.

Certificate numbers and RouterOS L4 licenses are assigned automatically by MikroTik. Students can see their certificates and generate license keys once logged into the account server. Printed documents from MikroTik cost USD 30 per piece. Shipping is not included.

Remote training sessions and certification exams are not allowed.

MikroTik Certification Test without prior attendance of particular MikroTik Training Session is not allowed.

Wireless Netware offers every participant a free RouterBOARD hAP-ac-lite.

The price includes class attendance, course materials, coffee breaks and lunch, "Only for local Training." The amount does not cover travel and accommodation expenses.

Please bring (very important): Laptop, power extension strip (10ft./3m) with five sockets, one long Ethernet cable (16ft./5m+) and several short Ethernet cables.

Cost: Early bird price for the course is $850. It is valid 15 days before the scheduled session, referring to the MikroTik Training website. The price will be $1050 after the early bird date.
