MikroTik SXTsq Lite2 2.4GHz 10dBi Compact Outdoor CPE
The MikroTik SXTsq Lite2 (RBSXTsq2nD) is a compact, lightweight, and cost-effective 2.4GHz outdoor wireless unit designed primarily for CPE and backbone applications. Featuring a dual-chain 10 dBi integrated antenna with an updated design compared to its predecessor, it supports 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4) with a maximum data rate of 300 Mbit/s. IP54-rated and powered via passive PoE, the SXTsq Lite2 is an accessible entry-level outdoor wireless solution running MikroTik RouterOS — well suited for WISPs deploying affordable CPE units at customer sites or for short-range wireless backbone links.

The MikroTik SXTsq Lite2 is the 2.4GHz member of the SXTsq Lite compact outdoor wireless family. Building on the antenna performance of its predecessor (the SXT Lite2), the SXTsq Lite2 introduces an improved antenna design while retaining the 10 dBi gain that made the original popular — all in a square, low-profile housing that is easy to mount and discreet in appearance.
Wireless Performance
The SXTsq Lite2 uses the QCA9533 wireless chip to deliver dual-chain 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4) wireless connectivity with a maximum data rate of 300 Mbit/s. The integrated 10 dBi antenna provides a focused beam pattern suited for point-to-point CPE links and backbone connections at moderate distances. Receive sensitivity ranges from -100 dBm at 1 Mbit/s through to -75 dBm at MCS7, supporting reliable connectivity even in challenging signal environments.
Processing & Storage
The unit is powered by a QCA9533 processor running at 650 MHz on the MIPSBE architecture, with 64 MB of RAM and 16 MB of FLASH storage. RouterOS comes pre-installed and licensed — no additional software purchase is necessary. RouterOS provides a comprehensive networking feature set including routing, bridging, firewall, QoS, VPN, and wireless management, all accessible via WinBox, WebFig, or CLI.
Ethernet & Powering
A single 10/100 Fast Ethernet port handles both data and power input. The SXTsq Lite2 is powered via passive PoE, accepting 10–30 V, with a maximum power consumption of just 5 W — making it highly efficient and suitable for installations with limited power budgets. Passive cooling ensures silent, maintenance-free operation.
Build & Installation
The SXTsq Lite2 is housed in a compact square enclosure measuring 129 × 129 × 34 mm, rated IP54 for outdoor use and tested across an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 70°C. MTBF is rated at approximately 100,000 hours at 25°C. The package includes a 24V 0.38A power adapter, a metal mounting ring, and a PoE injector for straightforward pole or wall mounting.
Use Cases
The SXTsq Lite2 is an ideal choice for WISPs looking for an affordable, reliable 2.4GHz CPE to deploy at customer premises, as well as for short-range point-to-point wireless backbone links where cost-efficiency is a priority. Its compact form factor and low power consumption also make it a practical option for remote or solar-powered installations.
