MikroTik mANTBox 2 12s 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n 120° Sector Outdoor Base Station
The MikroTik mANTBox 2 12s (RB911G-2HPnD-12S) is a long-range 2.4GHz outdoor base station that combines a high-gain 12 dBi dual-polarisation 120° sector antenna with a fully integrated wireless router — all in a single weatherproof unit. Based on the mANT sector antenna platform, it supports 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4) with a maximum data rate of 300 Mbit/s and connects via a single Gigabit Ethernet port. Running MikroTik RouterOS with passive cooling and an IP54 rating, the mANTBox 2 12s is well suited for wireless ISPs, outdoor hotspot operators, and network integrators who need a reliable, long-range 2.4GHz sector base station with the full flexibility of RouterOS management.

The MikroTik mANTBox 2 12s is a purpose-built outdoor wireless base station that merges a high-performance 2.4GHz sector antenna with a capable wireless router in one integrated enclosure. It builds on MikroTik's mANT antenna series, adding onboard processing and RouterOS to create a self-contained access point that is straightforward to deploy and manage.
Wireless Performance
The mANTBox 2 12s operates in the 2.4GHz band using a dual-chain radio based on the AR9342 wireless chip, supporting the 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4) standard for broad client compatibility. The integrated dual-polarisation sector antenna provides 12 dBi of gain across a 120° horizontal beamwidth, enabling long-range coverage while maintaining a focused sector pattern that reduces interference compared to omnidirectional alternatives. Maximum wireless data rate is 300 Mbit/s. Receive sensitivity spans from -100 dBm at 1 Mbit/s (802.11b) to -73 dBm at MCS7 (802.11n), supporting reliable links at extended ranges.
Processing & Storage
The unit is powered by an AR9342 processor running at 600 MHz on the MIPSBE architecture, with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of NAND flash storage. RouterOS comes pre-installed and licensed — no additional software purchase is required. RouterOS provides comprehensive networking features including routing, bridging, firewall, QoS, VPN, and full wireless management, accessible via WinBox, WebFig, or CLI.
Ethernet & Powering
A single 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port handles both data connectivity and power input. The mANTBox 2 12s accepts two forms of power input: passive PoE via the Ethernet port (10–28 V) or a DC jack (8–30 V), providing flexibility for different installation scenarios. Maximum power consumption is 11 W. The unit is passively cooled, ensuring silent and maintenance-free operation in outdoor environments.
Monitoring & Diagnostics
On-board diagnostics include a PCB temperature monitor, voltage monitor, and a beeper, providing useful feedback for installation alignment and ongoing health monitoring without requiring additional tools.
Build & Installation
The mANTBox 2 12s is housed in an IP54-rated outdoor enclosure measuring 140 × 348 × 82 mm, tested across an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 70°C — suitable for challenging outdoor climates. MTBF is rated at approximately 100,000 hours at 25°C. The package includes a Gigabit PoE injector, a QMP pole mounting bracket, a 24V 0.8A power adapter, a metal mounting ring, and a K-41 fastening set for straightforward pole installation.
Use Cases
The mANTBox 2 12s is well suited for wireless ISP base station deployments, outdoor public access hotspots, point-to-multipoint sector coverage in the 2.4GHz band, and any scenario where long-range 2.4GHz sector coverage is required from a single integrated unit. Its 120° beamwidth makes it a natural fit for three-sector deployments providing full 360° coverage around a tower or rooftop.

General information
All students who attend the Training can receive a free L4 license from MikroTik. Training should be at least three days long.
Students are allowed to take the certification test ONLY upon the attendance of individual training course, in the class, under the supervision of a MikroTik Certified Training Partner.
Each certification test consists of a pre-defined % of random questions (multiple choice and true/false) from specific question categories. Items also have a difficulty parameter. MTCNA test is generated from more straightforward questions, Advanced tests – from more difficult questions.
Only one attempt is allowed. The test must be finished within one hour. The passing grade is set to 60%. There are 25 questions in the exam.
Certificate numbers and RouterOS L4 licenses are assigned automatically by MikroTik. Students can see their certificates and generate license keys once logged into the account server. Printed documents from MikroTik cost USD 30 per piece. Shipping is not included.
Remote training sessions and certification exams are not allowed.
MikroTik Certification Test without prior attendance of particular MikroTik Training Session is not allowed.
