MikroTik HGO-LTE-W LTE LoRa Combo Antenna KNOT LR8 LR9

The MikroTik HGO-LTE-W is a single broadband combo antenna covering 699 MHz – 3.8 GHz — replacing separate LTE and LoRa® antennas with one 1.5–4 dBi SMA male element rated for indoor and outdoor use from -40°C to +70°C. Designed for the MikroTik KNOT LR8 and LR9 kits, it supports LTE/5G, CAT-M1/NB-IoT, 868 MHz LoRa®, and 915 MHz LoRa® — including the Canadian 915 MHz LoRa® band — from a single antenna connection. At USD 9.00, it is the correct single-antenna solution for any KNOT kit deployment where simplicity, cost, and space matter more than maximum gain.

The MikroTik HGO-LTE-W is a combo antenna built specifically for IoT gateway deployments where multiple radios share a single physical antenna. Instead of mounting a separate LTE antenna and a separate LoRa® antenna on the gateway enclosure or cabinet, the HGO-LTE-W covers the entire IoT frequency stack — 699 MHz through 3.8 GHz — with a single antenna element and a single SMA male connection. One antenna port. All protocols.

The frequency range is the defining specification. 699 MHz – 3.8 GHz covers:

- **LoRa® 868 MHz band (863–870 MHz)** — European and international LoRaWAN networks

- **LoRa® 915 MHz band (902–928 MHz)** — North American LoRaWAN networks, including Canadian ISED-regulated 915 MHz LoRa® deployments

- **LTE low-band (700 MHz / Band 12/13/17)** — Bell, Rogers, and Telus low-band LTE coverage including rural Canada

- **LTE mid-band (AWS 1700/2100 MHz / Band 4)** — primary urban LTE coverage band for Canadian carriers

- **LTE high-band (2600 MHz / Band 7)** — urban high-capacity LTE

- **CAT-M1 and NB-IoT** — all bands within range

- **5G NR sub-6 GHz (3.3–3.8 GHz / Band n77/n78)** — forward-compatible with 5G NR IoT devices

For Canadian IoT deployments using the KNOT LR9 kit (915 MHz LoRa®) with LTE CAT-M1 backhaul on Bell, Rogers, or Telus, the HGO-LTE-W is the correct single-antenna solution — covering both the 915 MHz LoRa® radio and the CAT-M1 cellular radio from a single antenna connection.

The HGO-LTE-W is explicitly designed for the MikroTik KNOT LR8 and KNOT LR9 kits — the two variants of MikroTik's industrial IoT gateway platform. The KNOT LR8 uses 868 MHz LoRa® (European band); the KNOT LR9 uses 915 MHz LoRa® (North American/Canadian band). The HGO-LTE-W covers both — meaning the same antenna SKU works for both KNOT kit variants without requiring a frequency-specific antenna selection.

The antenna is passive — it does not switch bands, filter signals, or require configuration. As MikroTik states: "This antenna will transmit whichever signal your modem provides." Whatever the KNOT kit's LTE or LoRa® radio outputs, the HGO-LTE-W radiates it. There is no setup, no band selection, and no software interaction. Connect the SMA male connector to the device's SMA female port and the antenna is operational.

The gain range of 1.5–4 dBi varies across the 699 MHz – 3.8 GHz frequency range — this is a broadband trade-off. A dedicated 868 MHz omni antenna such as MikroTik's 868 Omni Antenna achieves 6.5 dBi at that frequency; a dedicated 2.4 GHz antenna such as the TOF-2400-8V-4 achieves 8 dBi. The HGO-LTE-W delivers 1.5–4 dBi across its full band — appropriate for installations where the gateway is centrally located within the sensor network range and where simplicity and cost take priority over maximum range. For deployments requiring extended LoRa® coverage (1–4 km), the dedicated 868 Omni Antenna or a 915 MHz equivalent is the correct choice.

The -40°C to +70°C operating temperature range covers Canadian winter conditions — the same as the KNOT LR8G kit it is designed to accompany. Indoor and outdoor use are both confirmed. For exposed outdoor installations, confirm the IP rating from the product brochure or your MikroTik distributor.

At USD 9.00, the HGO-LTE-W is a standard add-to-cart alongside any KNOT LR8 or LR9 kit purchase — it eliminates the need for separate LTE and LoRa® antenna purchases and ships-ready for immediate installation.

Key features:

- Broadband frequency range: 699 MHz – 3.8 GHz — covers LTE, 5G NR, CAT-M1/NB-IoT, LoRa® 868 MHz, and LoRa® 915 MHz on a single antenna

- **Covers Canadian 915 MHz LoRa® band** — compatible with North American LoRaWAN networks

- Gain: 1.5–4 dBi across frequency range

- Connector: SMA male — connects directly to SMA female ports on KNOT LR8 and LR9 kits

- Compatible with: MikroTik KNOT LR8 kit, KNOT LR9 kit, and any SMA female equipped device in the 699 MHz – 3.8 GHz range

- Indoor and outdoor rated

- Operating temperature: -40°C to +70°C

- Passive antenna — no configuration required

- Product code: HGO-LTE-W

- Suggested price: USD 9.00

Note: Gain varies between 1.5–4 dBi depending on frequency. For maximum LoRa® range deployments, a dedicated LoRa® band antenna with higher gain is recommended. This antenna is a broadband combo unit optimised for multi-protocol convenience over single-band peak gain. SIM card not included with antenna — LTE operation requires a compatible SIM in the KNOT kit.

General information

All students who attend the Training can receive a free L4 license from MikroTik. Training should be at least three days long.

Students are allowed to take the certification test ONLY upon the attendance of individual training course, in the class, under the supervision of a MikroTik Certified Training Partner.

Each certification test consists of a pre-defined % of random questions (multiple choice and true/false) from specific question categories. Items also have a difficulty parameter. MTCNA test is generated from more straightforward questions, Advanced tests – from more difficult questions.

Only one attempt is allowed. The test must be finished within one hour. The passing grade is set to 60%. There are 25 questions in the exam.

Certificate numbers and RouterOS L4 licenses are assigned automatically by MikroTik. Students can see their certificates and generate license keys once logged into the account server. Printed documents from MikroTik cost USD 30 per piece. Shipping is not included.

Remote training sessions and certification exams are not allowed.

MikroTik Certification Test without prior attendance of particular MikroTik Training Session is not allowed.
