MikroTik CRS812 DDQ 50G/200G/400G Rackmount Aggregation Switch
The MikroTik CRS812 DDQ (CRS812-8DS-2DQ-2DDQ-RM) is a high-performance 1U rackmount aggregation switch that brings 50G, 200G, and 400G connectivity to data centres, campus cores, and service provider networks at an accessible price point. Powered by a Marvell 98DX7335 switch chip and a quad-core 2 GHz ARM64 CPU with 4 GB of RAM, it features eight 50G SFP56 ports, two 200G QSFP56 ports, two 400G QSFP56-DD ports, and two 1G/10G Ethernet ports — with full QSFP56/QSFP-DD breakout support down to 1G/2.5G/5G/10G/25G/50G. Equipped with dual hot-swap redundant power supplies, four hot-swap cooling fans, and RouterOS v7, the CRS812 DDQ is designed for top-of-rack, leaf, and aggregation roles in modern high-speed network environments.

The MikroTik CRS812 DDQ is a next-generation 1U rackmount aggregation switch engineered to make 400G networking accessible, efficient, and cost-effective. Combining an enterprise-grade Marvell switch chip with powerful ARM64 processing and RouterOS v7, it delivers carrier-grade switching and routing performance suited for data centres, ISP aggregation nodes, campus core deployments, AI computing clusters, and high-throughput media workflows.
Port Configuration & Multi-Speed Flexibility
The CRS812 DDQ provides a versatile mix of ultra-high-speed interfaces in a compact 1U form factor. Eight 50G SFP56 ports serve as high-density server or leaf downlinks, while two 200G QSFP56 ports and two 400G QSFP56-DD ports provide powerful uplink options for spine connections or high-bandwidth aggregation. Two additional copper ports support 10M/100M/1G/10G for out-of-band management or legacy device connectivity.
Critically, both the QSFP56 and QSFP56-DD ports support flexible breakout modes, allowing each port to be split into multiple lower-speed connections at 1G, 2.5G, 5G, 10G, 25G, or 50G — maximising port density and enabling seamless integration with a wide range of existing infrastructure. Compatible breakout accessories include the DQ+BC0003-DS+ breakout cable and DDQ+85MP01D optical module.
Switching & Routing Performance
At the heart of the CRS812 DDQ is the Marvell 98DX7335 switch chip, delivering truly non-blocking Layer 2 switching with a total switching capacity of 3.2 Tbps bidirectional. Layer 3 hardware-offloaded routing achieves approximately 1.59 Tbps throughput at 1518-byte frames, making it fully capable of handling wire-speed routing across all ports. Fast-path CPU-based bridging and routing add further versatility for complex traffic policies.
Powerful ARM64 CPU & Memory
The AL52400 quad-core ARM 64-bit processor running at 2 GHz, paired with 4 GB of RAM and 512 MB of NAND storage, provides substantial compute headroom for running the full feature set of RouterOS v7 — including advanced routing protocols, firewall rules, traffic shaping, VLANs, VPNs, and monitoring — without compromising switching performance.
High Availability — Hot-Swap PSUs & Fans
The CRS812 DDQ is designed for mission-critical uptime. Dual hot-swap redundant power supplies (accepting universal AC input at 100–240V, 50–60Hz) ensure the switch continues operating even if one PSU fails. Four hot-swap cooling fans maintain optimal thermal management and can be replaced in the field without powering down the switch. Maximum power consumption under full load is 134W (81W without transceivers). Operating temperature is tested from -10°C to 50°C with an MTBF of approximately 200,000 hours at 25°C.
Ideal Deployment Scenarios
The CRS812 DDQ is well-suited as a top-of-rack or leaf switch with 400G uplinks to a spine, as a campus core switch bridging existing 10G infrastructure with modern 50G interfaces, as a service provider aggregation node, or in labs, AI compute clusters, and high-throughput media environments where fast east-west traffic between servers is critical.
RouterOS v7 — No Subscriptions
The CRS812 DDQ ships with RouterOS v7 pre-installed and fully licensed — no additional cost, no subscriptions, and no paywalls. The complete suite of MikroTik switching and routing features is available from day one, including advanced L2/L3 switching, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, firewall, traffic engineering, and more.

General information
All students who attend the Training can receive a free L4 license from MikroTik. Training should be at least three days long.
Students are allowed to take the certification test ONLY upon the attendance of individual training course, in the class, under the supervision of a MikroTik Certified Training Partner.
Each certification test consists of a pre-defined % of random questions (multiple choice and true/false) from specific question categories. Items also have a difficulty parameter. MTCNA test is generated from more straightforward questions, Advanced tests – from more difficult questions.
Only one attempt is allowed. The test must be finished within one hour. The passing grade is set to 60%. There are 25 questions in the exam.
Certificate numbers and RouterOS L4 licenses are assigned automatically by MikroTik. Students can see their certificates and generate license keys once logged into the account server. Printed documents from MikroTik cost USD 30 per piece. Shipping is not included.
Remote training sessions and certification exams are not allowed.
