MikroTik CRS418-8P-8G-2S+RM Rackmount PoE Switch 1U
The MikroTik CRS418-8P-8G-2S+RM is the wireless-free 1U rackmount edition of the CRS418 platform — all the switching, routing, PoE, and 10G uplink capability of the CRS418 series without the Wi-Fi 6 radio, at USD 449. It combines 16× Gigabit Ethernet ports (8 with 802.3af/at PoE-out), a dedicated Gigabit management port, 2× 10G SFP+ uplinks, the quad-core IPQ-8072A 2.2 GHz ARM64 CPU with L3 hardware offloading, 1 GB RAM, dual redundant AC power supplies, USB 3.0, and RouterOS v7 License Level 5 — a clean, no-compromise rackmount switch-router for environments where Wi-Fi is handled separately or not needed at all.

The MikroTik CRS418-8P-8G-2S+RM is built on the same foundation as the CRS418-8P-8G-2S+WiFi — same quad-core CPU, same switch chip, same port mix, same dual redundant PSUs — with one deliberate difference: no Wi-Fi radio. For network environments where wireless is already covered by dedicated access points, a ceiling-mount CAPsMAN deployment, or an upstream wireless controller, paying for an integrated radio you will never use makes no sense. The CRS418-8P-8G-2S+RM strips that out and passes the savings directly to USD 449.
What remains is a formidable 1U rackmount platform. The quad-core IPQ-8072A ARM64 CPU at 2.2 GHz, paired with 1 GB RAM and the 98DX226S switch chip with L3 hardware offloading, provides the processing power to run as an internet gateway, full RouterOS firewall, VLAN router, and CAPsMAN controller simultaneously — approximately 3× faster than the CRS320 or CRS328 at a comparable or lower price.
The 8× PoE-out ports (Ether9–Ether16) with 802.3af/at and 24V Passive PoE-out support up to 150W total PoE budget — enough to power access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, and IoT devices directly from the switch. The 2× 10G SFP+ uplinks handle ISP fiber hand-off, core switch connectivity, and high-speed NAS links without a bottleneck. The dedicated Gigabit management port with direct CPU line keeps out-of-band management clean and available regardless of data plane load.
Key features:
- 16× 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports + 1× dedicated Gigabit management port (17 total)
- 8× PoE-out ports (Ether9–Ether16) — 802.3af/at and 24V Passive PoE-out, 150W total PoE budget, low-voltage limit 1.1A / high-voltage limit 0.56A, max 5.4A total
- 2× 10G SFP+ uplink cages — fiber ISP hand-off, core switch uplinks, high-speed NAS
- L3 hardware offloading — wire-speed routing between VLANs without CPU overhead
- Quad-core IPQ-8072A ARM 64-bit CPU, 2,208 MHz, 1 GB RAM, 128 MB NAND
- 98DX226S switch chip
- Dual redundant AC power inputs (100–240V, 50–60 Hz), 2 PSU slots
- 4-fan active cooling, -20°C to +70°C
- Max power consumption 215W (28W without attachments)
- 1× USB 3.0 Type-A port (up to 1A) with USB Power Reset — storage, backups, configuration
- RJ45 serial console port for out-of-band management
- CPU temperature, PCB temperature, current, and voltage monitoring
- Mode button
- RouterOS v7, License Level 5 — VLANs, ACLs, SNMP, firewall, CAPsMAN, traffic shaping, advanced monitoring — no subscriptions, no paywalls, free updates for life (minimum 5 years)
- Certified CE, EAC, RoHS | IP20
- MTBF ~200,000 hours at 25°C
In the box: 2× IEC cords, K-54 kit, rack ears.
Ideal for: small and medium offices that already use dedicated access points or a CAPsMAN deployment; server rooms and network closets replacing a stack of switch, router, and firewall appliances with a single 1U device; WISPs and ISPs needing a managed PoE switch with 10G uplinks and full RouterOS routing; homelabs and network labs; and any deployment where Wi-Fi is handled externally and the priority is maximum switching, routing, and PoE capability per rack unit at the best price.

General information
All students who attend the Training can receive a free L4 license from MikroTik. Training should be at least three days long.
Students are allowed to take the certification test ONLY upon the attendance of individual training course, in the class, under the supervision of a MikroTik Certified Training Partner.
Each certification test consists of a pre-defined % of random questions (multiple choice and true/false) from specific question categories. Items also have a difficulty parameter. MTCNA test is generated from more straightforward questions, Advanced tests – from more difficult questions.
Only one attempt is allowed. The test must be finished within one hour. The passing grade is set to 60%. There are 25 questions in the exam.
Certificate numbers and RouterOS L4 licenses are assigned automatically by MikroTik. Students can see their certificates and generate license keys once logged into the account server. Printed documents from MikroTik cost USD 30 per piece. Shipping is not included.
Remote training sessions and certification exams are not allowed.
MikroTik Certification Test without prior attendance of particular MikroTik Training Session is not allowed.
